Ms. Ferrari joined HealthCare Appraisers from the health law practice group of a major international law firm. Ms. Ferrari has experience structuring, negotiating, reviewing and executing many types of healthcare transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, hospital-physician joint ventures, physician recruitment arrangements, compensated on-call coverage arrangements, physician employment arrangements, medical director and physician consulting arrangements, clinical trial and research sponsorship agreements, and billing and other service arrangements. Ms. Ferrari has provided counsel and representation to various types of clients in the healthcare industry, including hospitals, physicians, and physician groups, and also pharmaceutical and medical device vendors, distributors and manufacturers. In addition to providing counsel on transactional matters, Ms. Ferrari has assisted in representing clients in investigations and proceedings by state and federal regulatory agencies, including the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Office of Inspector General of the United States Department of Health and Human Services (OIG), the Florida Department of Health, and the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA). Her recent experience includes assisting a large national corporation with an internal investigation to uncover compliance issues in advance of government action.
Ms. Ferrari has previously served as associate general counsel of a sizeable public health system, and in the in-house legal department of a major academic medical center. Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Ferrari oversaw clinical trials and quality research for nearly seven years.
Ms. Ferrari is a member of the Florida Bar and a Florida Licensed Healthcare Risk Manager. She received a Juris Doctor with a certificate of concentration in Health Law from Boston University School of Law, and Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in Health Law from Boston University School of Medicine/Public Health. She received her Bachelor’s degree (economics) from Smith College.
